Mr. Charles Meek demonstrated a true brotherly love when he sent me the following article on the overview of the Book of Revelation to further help me prepare for my debate (which was on March 25th, 2017 and should be uploaded to YouTube and www.powerofpreterism.com soon). Here is a link to Mr. Meek’s article, https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=D3BD424B0B25B83F%2116217&ithint=file%2Cdocx&app=Word&authkey=%21AKHYQCM8cunWUxI
In aforementioned article, Mr. Meek highlights the importance of the “time statements” while noting the “universal application” of Revelation. Mr. Meek said it like this, “While Revelation is a timeless book with universal application (Revelation 5:9; 7:9; 10:11; 13:7; 14:6), the fulfillment of prophecy was AT HAND when the Bible was being penned (Matthew 10:23; 16:27-28; 24:29-34; 26:64; 1 Corinthians 7:29-31; 10:11; Hebrews 1:2; 10:37; James 5:7-9; 1 Peter 4:7, 17; 1 John 2:17-18; etc.).” In my debate on Revelation with Pastor Earl Wallace, Mr. Wallace did not acknowledge nor convey honesty in regards to the time statements at all.
Not only that, Mr. Wallace also wandered all over in expressing his interpretation of the Book of Revelation and hardly brought forth any clarity in regards to what this letter warned the 7 churches of Asia Minor about. In this regard Mr. Meek has said, “It is irrefutably clear that the wrath upon Jerusalem in Matthew 23 (and elsewhere) would be fulfilled in Jesus’ generation per Matthew 23:36. The Great Judgment of which the Bible frequently speaks was directed squarely at the generation of Jews living in the first century.”
I am so glad that there are so many resources that espouse and bring clarity to the Book of Revelation from the PRETERIST position. Thank God. Mr. Meek’s writings on Revelation deserve a good look, and not only that but purchase and review of his book, Christian Hope Through Fulfilled Prophecy, is also an important study.
